I don't know if I should do marching band or not?

The thing is all my friends and the cheerleaders say I shouldn't do it again because it's lame and it makes me look bad and geeky and the band people are weird and I kinda agree like some of them are really antisocial no matter how hard I try to get along with them they just HATE ME and another thing is theirs this really cute basketball player that in marching band that I liked and last year we did some stuff on the bus we shouldn't of and then he would be a jerk to me!!! But when we were alone together he was soo nice and sometimes the band people were really fun to hang out with they are just really serious and refuse to laugh sometimes what would yal do in my position
