I need some advice..?
Hi Pia ! You've been through an awful lot dear ! There are good medicines today to help with the bipolar and depression. I would see the counselor. It's up to you if you want to mention the cutting to the counselor. They may refer you to a psychiatrist to get a professional diagnosis and medicines. Once you are more stable, they will start Cognitive Behavior Therapy to help overcome the traumas of the past, flashbacks, and quality of life improvement. This is definitely the path you should take to get better, and have a normal life. It will take some time to find the right medicine mix for you, as everyone is different. The cutting is an emotional release, and as long as you keep the cuts clean and minor, then the impact should be relatively small. Once the medicines take effect and you get therapy training, the need for cutting should subside. Do take care dear and please be patient with yourself on your road to recovery. BIG HUG !!! Chip
